Who: Mio and Mayu Amakura
When: Early night to late night
Where: All God's Village
Open to: Ghosts of All God's Village, Mio, Mayu

"Mayu, it would probably be best if we started for home right now." Mio Amakura said, barely able to keep up with her twin's oddly fast pace.

"Just a little longer, Mio." Her twin replied, while limping down a path with a shrine gate.

"No! Kei will get upset if we're late, and then he'll tell mom..." She sighed and tried to catch up with her twin, though it was becoming strangly difficult.

Mayu stood at the top of the path, looking at something Mio couldn't see. She continued down a path, at a walking pace. Finally catching up to her, Mio couldn't understand what it was that her twin was seeing: to herself, it seemed to just be some dingy old village. It looked old, and a bit creepy in the fading sunlight, but nothing spectacular. Just looking at Mayu would say otherwise, because she looked absolutely enthralled.

"Let's go have a look!" Her twin said, shuffling down a path that lead to some rotting houses.

"Are you crazy? They're just a bunch of old houses. Hey, come back here!" Mio said, chasing after her. Exhausted, she reached the bottom of the path, though Mayu was still enthusiastically limping forth, being unsually talkative.

"Oh, this place looks familiar somehow, doesn't it? Look at that house over there! Imagine how it must have looked back when it was in it's full glory!" Mayu hurried on, continuing her personal tour of this ruined town.

"Ma-mayu! Let's take a break. I'm tired, and we need to go back soon..." Aparently, she didn't listen, as went on her merry way. Soon, Mayu was lost to her.

Her twin had all but disappeared. Mio called out her name, told her to wait, but she was gone. The normally strong girl wandered around the village almost in tears because Mayu was nowhere to be found. Hours must have passed, because the light grew more dim and she grew even more tired.

Hoping to rest, she sat down what had probably been a storehouse in its glory days and rested her head on a decaying wall, only to fall asleep.

When she woke up, Mio realized something was terribly wrong. She stood up, and realized that the wall she had rested on was now looking almost new, and that there seemed to be a strange thickness in the air that she couldn't identify. "Mayu? Mayu! Are you around here?"

Itsuki had lifted his torso from his futon, awakened by the sound of a girl's voice calling for someone just beyond the wall of the store house. Something wasn't right. He ground his knuckle into his eye, shaking the drowsy feeling of just waking. The white haired boy crawled to his feet, straightening his kimono.
"This isn't... part of the script" He muttered to himself, drifting over to the barred window. Brown eyes searched the gloom and quickly came to focus on the back of someone's head. A familiar head...
"Yae?! Is that you? What are you doing back here? You've got to hurry and get Sae and get out of here!" Itsuki spoke in a quiet tone that was almost a whisper, but filled with. His heart was pounding.
This isn't right, this isn't what happened.

His mind raced, waiting for the girl's response.

"Eh?" Mio stumbled a bit as she turned around to face a strange boy with white hair, "I think you're mistaking me for someone else. My name's Mio, and I'm looking for my twin, Mayu. Were you standing there for a while?" She assaulted him with a flurry of questions, "Who're these Yae and Sae people? What's your name? Why're you locked in a storehouse? Have you seen a girl who looks like me around here?"

"Mio..." Itsuki's mouth formed the word. He frowned slightly, thinking through the strange questions the girl had very suddenly pushed on him.
"Then Yae never came back to the village. This is a mess." He walked away from the barred window and went shuffling through some papers that were piled rather haphazardly on the desk. From it he withdrew a map of the village where he had marked three specific places with red ink. Itsuki had intended it to be for Yae, should she come back and try to sneak her sister to safety. But if this wasn't Yae, it was just as important to get her out of the village too.
"Look, Mio. You have to get out of here as soon as possible. My name is Itsuki Tachibana, and I'm locked in this storehouse...because I committed a crime." He held the map out of the bars, presenting it to the girl. "If you find the three crests that are marked on this map, you should be able to work the mechanism on the great tree and escape, okay? The tree is right infront of the graveyard. You have to get your sister and get out of here."

"Why? What's wrong with it?" She looked at him questioningly. He couldn't have been much older than her. What crime could he have committed? Why was he wearing such old clothing? Maybe she was actually dreaming. That was always possible. Yes, she would test this theory. Mio reached through the cell, and tugged on Itsuki's hair. If this was a dream, and he got angry, he couldn't hurt her.

"Ah!" The boy gasped, completely puzzled as to why the girl had suddenly come at him. Had she been affected by the malice too? No, he concluded. The malice only affected ghosts, and this girl was very much alive.Itsuki tugged back, trying to wrench his hair out of her hand.
"Um... This village... is cursed." He said awkwardly, peering up past her hand. "And that...really hurts." He grunted.

Mio suddenly pulled back, shocked that it actually hurt, "This isn't a dream!"

Great. Mayu had dragged her to a cursed village. A cursed village that was probably full of ghouls, goblins, and all kinds of weird stuff, and then ditched her. And now she was alone, except for this white-haired criminal. Well, criminal or not, it seemed a lot more pleasant to wait here with someone than to wander about alone.

Then again, this was her sister, her one and only twin that went missing. On the other hand, wandering around an evil cursed village was just stupid. Maybe she could bring this guy along with her. But he was a criminal. What if he was a murderer?

"Just what did you do, anyways?" Mio said, stepping far enough back that she was almost standing in the grass.

Itsuki closed his eyes, looking as though he had suffered a physical blow. "My crime... My crimes are too many to list. But the reason I'm here is because I failed to keep a promise." He said quietly, shaking his head. He looked at the girl that so resembled his friend. A terrible thought creeped into his head.
"Oh no. You've really got to get out of here, if the priests find your sister, they're going to try to perform the ritual..." His gaze dropped, and an expression crossed his face that made him look both pitiful and somewhat determined at the same time. "Please. Please go before someone else's innocent blood is on my hands." Itsuki turned away from the window, now staring past the noose hanging in the middle of the room and at the locked door of the store-house. "I wish I could help you. But I'm locked in."

Well now he didn't seem like such a bad guy. Maybe a little pathetic, but he seemed nice. "Do you know where I can find the key? I can unlock you, find Mayu, and we can all leave together."

Then she realized what he was actually saying, "What do you mean 'ritual'?"

Ritual...
"Look, it's better if you don't know. Just get her and get out..." Itsuki suddenly realized that she had suggested finding the key to his pathetic little prison. He blinked in shock at himself for a moment.
"The...key?" He thought for a moment. "Well, if anyone had it, it would be Ryokan." He said darkly. "Look, don't worry about me. It's not like I can leave anyway."
ghosts don't leave the place they haunt
Itsuki frowned, something he seemed to do often. "Even if I could leave... I don't deserve to escape this nightmare." He added, looking away from Mio.
"If it's what time I think it is, you should go look for your sister. A bunch of villagers will be coming here pretty soon, and they're not going to be happy about you being here." Itsuki brushed a few strands of white hair out of his eyes and looked expectantly at the girl.

"Ryokan? Who's that?" Mio asked, "I'll hurry and go get it, if that's the case. You can get out of here and we'll find Mayu and leave."

"Ryokan is the ceremony master, I should warn you about him anyway. He's sure to be in a near frenzy because of the malice, and you should avoid him at all costs. He's the head of the Kurosawa family." Itsuki pointed as if to something he couldn't see through the wall of the storehouse. "The big house in that direction, over the bridge. Avoid it if you can. That's where Ryokan is." Itsuki's serious brown eyes locked on Mio's. "Please be careful. I don't understand what's going on right now, but it's not good."

"Okay. I'll be back soon." Mio waved back at him and started to run through the grass over to the house that Mayu had talked about when they first arrived, "Be careful, Mr. Itsuki!"

Itsuki leaned to the side of the window in order to see where the girl had gone. She was headed for the Osaka house, no doubt. He put his face in his hands, then quickly sat down at the desk that sat under the window. What's happening? he thought. Itsuki was more than a little ruffled, realizing that something strange had begun to happen. Decades had passed as he sat in that storehouse repeating the same night over and over, and now suddenly, something entirely different had happened. Itsuki found his mind wandering back to the girl wearing strange clothing. She had to have come from the outside. I wonder how much time has passed since then.... Itsuki turned his attention to the notebook that lay open on his desk and began to write a hasty note with brush and ink.

When Mio was finally in front of the Osaka house, she was shocked to find Mayu walking out, looking rather purposeful as she set down some object.

"Mayu! There you are!" She laughed and started to run up to her.

Then, without turning her head her twin replied, "Take it. I found it for you. I've got to go somewhere now." Listlessly, she turned and started to walk away.

"What are you talking about? We gotta leave!" She said, scooping up the camera as she ran for Mayu.

When she caught up to her, she clamped onto her wrist. The world became fuzzy, and she had sudden, abrupt visions of people being killed, people hiding, ropes, corpses falling into a large hole, and finally, a woman screeching with laughter. Then it all faded away.
--------------------------------------
Mio sat up with a start, only to find that she was once again, resting on the wall of the storehouse. Except now it was back to its old, messed up state. She also noticed Mayu curled up next to her, her head resting on her lap. Mayu was mumbling things that Mio couldn't decipher. "Mayu! Wake up!"

For a minute or so, she didn't stir, which worried Mio. Finally, she lifted her head like it weighed a hundred pounds, "I... had a bad dream."

"I had a strange dream, too. Let's get out of here, Kei's probably worried sick." She pushed herself up, and got an urge to look in the storehouse. Mio almost panicked when she saw the white haired boy was no longer there, "He's gone!"

"Itsuki... disappeared?" Mayu looked up at her, drowsy.

"Yes, he's... how do you know his name?"

Mayu's only answer was to stand up, and hug Mio. "Let's go home. We should get some sleep there."

"Shizu is going to kill me for this..." Kei groaned as he walked down the path to the Osaka house. "The girls better be here..."

He shouted their names at random, and sighed when he discovered they seemed to not be there, either. Though he did find a rather interesting old camera, that still looked usable in front of the house.

When he heard his own name being called in a familiar voice, Kei sighed in relief and turned towards it. At least he found Mayu.

"Hey, where's Mio?"

"She's looking for some boy in the storehouse. He was in her dream." She yawned and rubbed her eyes in an almost child-like manner, "I'm tired, may we go home?"

Meanwhile, Mio had given up her five minute long search of the storeroom, finding that there were no people in it, and it was half collapsed. She cringed when she saw Kei and Mayu talking. Even though the two of them continued on for a while, through the entire walk and drive back home, Mio didn't really listen. She was too unnerved in her dream, and completely lost in her own thoughts.
