Who: Kaori Nishidake
What: Grocery Shopping
Where: Local Grocery Store
Open-to: All residents not dreaming/reside in Japan.

Inside the Shokuryou grocery store, there was the sound of metal rattling against metal; cart wheels squeaking on the linoleum floor; speakers overhead announcing the next sale, and loud beeps came from the registers. People coughed, babbled on their cellphones, and children were crying and whining as Kaori weaved in and out of the aisles pushing her cart forward. Everyone around her was normal. She was quite envious. Why couldn't she be like that? Instead, her thoughts were plagued with worry, but not like the 'I have a late car payment that's due in two days.' worry, but more of a sinking worry; a feeling of dread.

She scuffled past the clinging children who walked beside their mothers with huge round eyes hoping that if they were good enough that they would get some sweet treat. Kaori felt a little envious of the mothers who still had their children beside them. She thought of her own, that image still burned into her mind as fresh as though the memory were made only yesterday. She snapped out of her reverie just as she was about to push the cart into a bystander and abruptly stopped. Kaori apologized profusely before continuing on her way, still dragging her feet.

Lately, her sleeping pattern had been off the wall and now she looked like the dead walking around with her underlids dark and black with the lack of relaxation. She rubbed one eye as she turned to a section of the shelves and examined a box and replaced it back in its original position. She continued on without speaking a word to anyone and went on her way. Kaori decided to take this sudden trip after rushing around and finishing her errands early. She figured that they were short on some food and that it would be best to make Tesuya a nice boxed lunch for his big presentation at the college tomorrow.

"Let's see...this is the aisle with the tempura right?"

Mio walked listlessly down the aisle, clutching and unclutching her hand, not used to having it empty in the store. Mayu was in the hospital, and Kei had decided to get ingredients for her favorite treat, since "she'd wake up any day now". So while her uncle got food, she wandered up and down familiar aisles, silent and sad.
